Not My Grandmother’s Hymnal: Composing a Curious Faith

DNA is not the only thing passed down from our ancestors. A canticle of poems, Not My Grandmother’s Hymnal: Composing a Curious Faith explores the religious practices and theological beliefs we inherit. Familiar and ethereal, these melodious words shine light on church harm and generational trauma, taking readers to the depths of human suffering without leaving them there. Whether healing from wounds inflicted by Christianity, deconstructing or re-imagining faith, Not My Grandmother’s Hymnal inspires creativity and stirs curiosity about what it means to be human and divine.

Meet Rebecca

Rebecca Wilson is a queer poet, storyteller, and cultivator of creativity.

After years of pouring out messages about a man turning water into wine, in 2022 Rebecca founded 10CAMELS, where she travels the country turning words into water for individuals and communities thirsty for hope and healing. Humble and witty, she is uniquely gifted at bringing people together, tending gently to harsh realities, and stirring transformation.

Rebecca cultivates creativity in others by planting seeds of authenticity, curiosity, and introspection.
